Describe how you first got interested in snowboarding: Middle of Nowhere Alberta has an awesome, snow-covered riverbank that doubles as a ski hill...My best friend, Sarah, got me to try snowboarding instead of skiing...And that was it...
What keeps you snowboarding today? Its the most fun I've ever had doing anything in my whole life...That's enough to keep me riding till I physically just can't...
What do you get up to when you aren't snowboarding? Currently, its school, a job-type thing, rehab from knee surgery, golf and horsebackriding....
Describe the perfect day:
Winter: Bluebird, first person in an perfectly groomed park, with immaculate jumps, good music and a good group of friends... Summer: Not too hot, back home on the farm, riding horses with my little brother, having a BBQ and going to the driving range
Have you had any injuries or situations that have made you re-think your lifestyle? Oh, we all have, it just comes with the territory, and you can either let it get you down or you can use it to teach you something and come out a better rider and a better person...
Contests and freeriding.Describe likes and dislikes of both: I do actually really like contests...I like the nervous anticipation, it positively affects my riding... Snowboard comps usually have a pretty good, relaxed vibe too...Freeriding is awesome, though...I like learning new
things and that rarely happens in a contest situation...
What keeps you snowboarding today? You already asked me that...
Where do you want to be in 10 years? Healthy, well-travelled, skilled, intelligent, at peace, and still snowboarding...
